Aid Organization (AO) has been working with the distressed and disadvantaged people for a long time with massive mobilization of all Programs. On the other hand the organization is playing a vital role in the field of development in local and national level with good reputation and recognition from the GOB. Beginning the organization have done a training, disaster management, relief and rehabilitation, program monitoring & evaluation program on Arsenic Screening and Mitigation, Health and Hygienic Practices poultry, Duck rearing, Handicrafts, Rural Industry, at the project areas, sponsored by different Government agencies along with Donors. Aid Organization has been actively working for the development of target with sharing partner for national development. Aid Organization has potential study team for engaged specially research and need assessment program findings and identify of problems for further program sustainability. They are qualified for monitoring any such type’s program implementation and they have also developed tools for checklist, questionnaire and the organization has been working with the distressed and disadvantaged people for a long time with massive mobilization of all Programs.
Basically general knowledge of the community people on climate change is the disaster either natural or man created, which can be told as Comprehensive Disaster which to be solved through the improving dialogue of the policy makers and livelihood protection of vulnerable economic groups. But every region having different geographical characters. The any kind of the climate changed effect on our country hits to national economy basically through agricultural way. The project is designed considering the agriculture concerned food security, social protection and health, life protection form disaster, develops infrastructure and capacity of the target people etc. under the Comprehensive Disaster Management. The thematic area strategy is fixing up with comprehensive relations to reduce the climate change vulnerability as well as protect the life and people of the community to contribute the GDP of Bangladesh and increase the per capita income, because of wider interest of sustainability through social and economic empowerment under the Disaster Management Programme raising awareness, Social Protection and Health.
Main activities:
- Awareness raising initiatives (folk song, day observation, billboard installation, poster & leaflets distribution, courtyard meeting, DMC meeting etc ).
- Training for the community on climate change issues and its effects, Disaster management, environment, tree plantation, Livestock & poultry management during Disaster, cultivation of flood resistant crops including demonstration etc.
- Organizational capacity building initiatives.
- School based programs.
- Nursery established and training on this issues.
- Tree plantation.
- Set-up and update of data bases on climate changed Disaster vulnerability.
- Development of contingency plans.
- Generating fund for protect climate change effects & Disaster management issues.
- Risk & resources mapping,
- Established of early warning Centres at community levels,
- Workshop on the role and responsibilities of Local administration and line ministers on Climate Change, its effects and reducing issues .
- Lesion learned workshop and Training to the community leaders, CBO members, volunteers, school forums, NGO professionals.
Objectives:
- enhance the resilience capacity of the community to address the climatically Disaster.
- Enhanced resilience capacity of the community people to address Climate change & its effect to Disaster.
- DMC are established with the community and functioning properly.
- Established early warning centre in the community level.
- Skills & capacity of community leaders, volunteers, CBO members, School students, NGO professionals are developed.
- Nursery setup in the community level and plantation to protect green house effects.
- enhance the resilience capacity of the community to address the climatically Disaster.
- Enhanced resilience capacity of the community people to address Climate change & its effect to Disaster.
- DMC are established with the community and functioning properly.
- Established early warning centre in the community level.
